On April 27 and 28, 2023, two Support Service coordinators, Gabrielle Arthurs and Audrey Larivière, travelled to the Outaouais region to visit a designated centre in Hull, where they gave a one-day training course to a group of SNPs, paediatric nurses and psychosocial workers from the region’s designated centres.

 

Two training sessions were offered:

“L'approche sensible aux traumatismes appliquée à l'intervention médicosociale (AST)” and “Coaching: Intervention auprès des mineurs.”

In-person training allows us to connect directly with team members and support them in their interactions. This is why the Support Service strongly encourages regular exchanges between members of the designated centre teams. This approach helps us generate collective expertise, develop support mechanisms for difficult cases and work together to find solutions.

Thanks to Danielle Léveillé, Myriam Bartura and Stéphanie Charron for organizing our visit and recognizing the importance of continuous training for the staff of designated centres.
